Don Hardinger of Vernal, Utah, “Picked them all” as he became the first WWMT Pick Em Panel Champion in the 2008 season. Don out picked Vickie Benson, Dustin Hansen, Shelly Hansen, & Geoff Briggs who rounded out the top 5 out of the 10 2008 panelists. Don will be receiving a plaque for his Pick Em Panel Championship. 2009 WWMT Pick Em Panel.

Want to be on the 2009 WWMT Pick Em Panel?

As a Pick Em Panelists, You will be on a panel that will be picking and choosing race winners for each Wild West Modified Tour Northern and Southern Series event. In this you will be choosing your Winner, Good Chance, and Hard Luck drivers. There will also be some other questions that you will answering throughout the 2009 season.

There will be a champion at the end of the season. You will earn points by picking your drivers and you will get a chance to earn bonus points throughout the season.

Your picks will be posted on the website under the Weekend Preview page and the Pick Em Panel page.

How to be eligible?

I will only allow 2 WWMT registered and IMCA modified drivers and besides that anyone else can play.

There are 20 spots to fill.

The end of the 2008 Wild West Modified Tour season is here. This means the Pick Em Panel has picked the post season awards. The awards, Hard Luck of the Year, Story of the Year, Driver of the Year and Best Race of the Year was picked by our Panel. BEST RACE OF THE YEAR

May 3, 2008 – CORTEZ, CO - Ricky Alvarado and Chase Hansen laps up to 10th place and Alvarado beats Hansen by a bumper.
June 21, 2008 – BATTLE MOUNTAIN, NV - Derek Kopp leads until lap 29 when Kopp and Yeager get together in turn 1 & 2. This put Dimick in the lead. Cory Simoneau passes Dimick for the lead with 2 laps left on the restart. Dimick and Alvarado pass Simoneau on the white flag lap and Alvarado beats Dimick for the win.
April 11, 2008 – VERNAL, UT Chase Hansen and Jeff Hunter battled for the race lead early on until Regan Tafoya gets by on the restart for the race lead. Ricky Alvarado gets caught up in a early race caution with Chase Hansen and gets sent to the rear and still wins the feature with Jeff Hunter in second .
June 20, 2008 – WINNEMUCCA, NV .- Justen Yeager wins with a damaged left front parts with Alvarado on his tail followed by Nevada shoe Robert Miller.
July 4, 2008 – PRICE, UT - Derek Kopp holds off Chase Hansen for his first career Wild West Modified Tour feature win.
September 12, 2008 – IDAHO FALLS, ID - Travis Metz passes Justen Yeager on last lap to win his first WWMT win of his career. After Yeager led 26 of the 30 with Ricky Alvarado breaking a right rear link on lap 12 .
July 5, 2008 – PRICE, UT - Alvarado starts scratch to earn bonus money. Gets near the top 10 and blows a tire. He went and got it changed and finished in 2nd behind Green River, Wyomings, Justen Yeager.
April 12, 2008 – VERNAL, UT - Derek Kopp leads on the final lap until Jeep Berry gets side by side with Kopp and pulls off with the win with the “last lap pass”.

August 16, 2008 – ROCK SPRINGS, WYO
Blood, Sweat, & Tears drivers, Matt and Will Brack duke it out with each other with Matt Brack beating Will Brack and Ricky Alvarado for the win.
September 13, 2008 – ATOMIC CITY, ID - Ricky Alvarado beats Justen Yeager for the race win in Atomic City.
July 25, 2008 – AZTEC, NM - Ricky Alvarado holds off the Scott brothers and went on to win his first win at Aztec Speedway
June 22, 2008 – ELKO, NV Ricky Alvarado battles Justen Yeager the whole race with Alvarado beating Yeager and Kelly Shaw.
September 14, 2008 – ATOMIC CITY, ID - Justen Yeager was leading until he hit a cone. Was sent to the back and worked his way in the top 10. Ricky Alvarado, Travis Metz, and Dennis Durmas rounded out the top 3.
May 25, 2008 – ALAMOSA, CO - Justen Yeager sweeps the WWMT shows in Alamosa.
July 26, 2008 – AZTEC, NM - Ricky Alvarado dominated the second show at the Aztec Speedway beating Yeager and Johnny Scott. Craig Nelson and Garland Tucker rounded out the top 5 .
May 24, 2008 – ALAMOSA, CO - Justen Yeager gets first WWMT race win of 2008 but had to battle pole starter Don Baisch and Jeff Hunter for the win.
May 2, 2008 – CORTEZ, CO - Farmington, New Mexico's Zane DeVilbiss takes first checkered flag with the WWMT in only his 5th career WWMT start.
August 15, 2008 – ROCK SPRINGS, WYO .- Alvarado gets third win in a row at the Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
